Originally from Chattanooga Tennessee, Katie started her art education at Covenant College. Here, Katie also met her husband. After she discovered her talent, she decided to
continue her education at Chattanooga State and several years later at Kennesaw State University to work toward her B.F.A.
Married in 1999, Katie and her husband travelled to Scandinavia. They lived with
family, studied and travelled around Scandinavia. Katie was inspired by her surroundings and by the people she met. She began
working with mixed media and text of a spiritual nature. Her technique became more refined and her style her own.
Katie, her husband Joel and two children recently moved from the Atlanta area to
Chattanooga TN.
